Interaction between a magnet and a coil (change of direction)
Series of experiments related to understanding how electric current is generated
Aim:
Observe the behavior of the magnetic fields of a coil and a magnet when they interact.
Material:
- A rectangular magnet.
- A coil.
- DC power source.
- Support to suspend the coil.
- Strong thread to suspend the coil.
Process:
- Suspend the coil from the support, in such a way that it can oscillate freely. - Connect the coil to the source.
- Gently bring the magnet closer to the coil from the front.
- Write down which color and pole of the magnet is the one that approaches the coil.
