Series of experiments related to understanding how electric current is generated
Aim:
Build a direct current electric generator.
Material:
- A coil.
- A cylindrical magnet (obtained from a dryer motor).
- A turbine (obtained from a washing machine pump).
- Galvanometer (a milliammeter or a tester is also useful).
- Connection cables.
- Support base.
Process:
Observe that if the turbine is rotated, either by a jet of water, steam, wind, etc., the galvanometer needle moves, indicating that an electric current is being produced.
