December 8, 1953 – President Eisenhower delivers his ‘Atoms for Peace’ speech

‘Atoms for Peace’ was the title of the speech delivered by Dwight D. Eisenhower at the United Nations General Assembly in New York (United States) that inspired the creation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
