Lucy Everest Boole

An Irish chemist and pharmacist, she was the first female Professor of the London School of Medicine for Women at the Royal Free Hospital and the first female Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chemistry.

In addition, he developed the procedure for analyzing tartar emetic which was proposed in a joint paper with Sir Wyndham Dunstan in 1889 and became the official method of analysis until 1963.
