A new edition of the Lise Meitner Programme!

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has organised a new edition of the Lise Meitner Programme, which on this occasion focuses on the nuclear fuel cycle, covering: uranium exploration and mining, uranium conversion and enrichment, fuel fabrication, spent fuel storage, reprocessing and recycling, transport of nuclear materials, and radioactive waste management.

It will take place from 14 to 17 October 2026 (including travel days) as follows:

  • Week 1 (5–9 October 2026): visits to Orano’s nuclear fuel cycle facilities in France.
  • Week 2 (12–16 October 2026): activities at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, running in parallel with the IAEA International Conference on the Fuel Supply Chain.

It is aimed at female professionals with a background in the nuclear sector and at least three years’ professional experience, or PhD students in their final year with relevant prior work experience.
