On 5 and 6 May, Spanish Nuclear Industry Forum (Foro Nuclear), the University of León, and the Official Association of Mining Engineers of Central Spain organised, once again this year, the course entitled ‘Current situation of nuclear technology’ for students of the Escuela Superior y Técnica de Ingenieros de Minas and the Escuela de Ingenierías Industrial, Informática y Aeroespacial (School of Industrial, Computer and Aerospace Engineering) in León.
On 5 May, 34 students were able to learn first-hand about the decommissioning process being carried out at the Santa María de Garoña nuclear power plant (Burgos).

On 6 May, Dr. Gonzalo Jiménez Varas, professor at the Madrid School of Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University, gave a lecture entitled ‘Current situation of nuclear technology and reactors of the future’ and Almudena Real, PhD in Biological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, explained the ‘Applications of nuclear technology in everyday life’.
