Fue destinado a Gal\u00edpoli, donde, en 1915, fue alcanzado en la cabeza por un francotirador mientras estaba telegrafiando una orden. Muri\u00f3 con 27 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su principal contribuci\u00f3n a la ciencia fue, en qu\u00edmica avanzada, el proporcionar un apoyo fundamental al modelo at\u00f3mico de <a href=\"https:\/\/rinconeducativo.org\/es\/recursos-educativos\/niels-bohr-contribuyo-la-compresion-del-atomo-y-la-mecanica-cuantica\">Bohr<\/a> definido con detalle por Rutherford y <a href=\"https:\/\/rinconeducativo.org\/es\/recursos-educativos\/antonius-van-den-broek-establecio-correlacion-directa-carga-nucleo-atomico-y-tabla-periodica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Antonius van den Broek<\/a>, mencionando que los n\u00facleos at\u00f3micos contienen cargas positivas iguales a su n\u00famero at\u00f3mico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por indicaci\u00f3n de este \u00faltimo estudi\u00f3 los espectros de rayos X de cincuenta elementos y pudo justificar cuantitativamente el concepto de n\u00famero at\u00f3mico mediante la Ley de Moseley.
