A simple vista, parece poca energ\u00eda, pero Betavolt asegura que es posible utilizar varias de estas pilas en serie o en paralelo para satisfacer las necesidades de dispositivos como: sensores inteligentes, drones de peque\u00f1o tama\u00f1o, robots, aparatos m\u00e9dicos, dispositivos para la industria aeroespacial e, incluso, smartphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para lograrlo utiliza la desintegraci\u00f3n natural del is\u00f3topo inestable n\u00edquel-63 en un is\u00f3topo estable del cobre, en combinaci\u00f3n con un sofisticado semiconductor de diamante que permite operar de forma estable en un rango de temperaturas que oscila entre -60 y 120\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su estructura se asimila a la de un s\u00e1ndwich en la que se alternan capas de n\u00edquel-63, de un espesor de 2 micras, y l\u00e1minas del material semiconductor, que tienen un grosor de 10 micras. A grandes rasgos, estas l\u00e1minas intercaladas son las responsables de transformar la energ\u00eda nuclear en el\u00e9ctrica.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/rinconeducativo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Pila_Energia_Atomica_2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28506\" width=\"641\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rinconeducativo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Pila_Energia_Atomica_2.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/rinconeducativo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Pila_Energia_Atomica_2-500x291.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/rinconeducativo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Pila_Energia_Atomica_2-768x447.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>El uso de is\u00f3topos ha generado cierto escepticismo por la seguridad en su utilizaci\u00f3n, pero Betavolt afirma que su tecnolog\u00eda es segura y no requiere mantenimiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo m\u00e1s llamativo es que a la pila BV100 solo le queda superar los tests de seguridad, antes de iniciar su fabricaci\u00f3n a gran escala, por lo que podr\u00eda ser comercializada en 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el futuro, Betavolt espera que pueda alimentar hasta 1 voltio.
