Like her father, Fr\u00e9deric Joliot-Curie<\/a>, and her husband, she graduated in 1949 as an engineer from l'\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure de physique et de chimie industrielles de la ville de Paris<\/em> (ESPCI Paris Tech). The same school where her grandparents, Pierre and Marie Curie<\/a>, discovered radium and polonium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne belongs to a family of scientists, her grandparents, her parents, her husband Michael Langevin who was a nuclear physicist, her son is an astrophysicist, her brother Pierre is a biophysicist and a long etc. physical relatives, educators, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, she is a professor of nuclear physics at the Institute of Nuclear Physics at the University of Paris, director of research at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), and a member of the advisory committee of the French government. She is also known for her tireless work encouraging more women to pursue scientific careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of her family heritage, Langevin-Joliot regularly gives interviews and gives talks about her history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
