What is the Paris Agreement and how does it work?

This video explains the basics of the Paris Agreement, the 2015 United Nations (UN) international treaty that aims to tackle climate change head-on.

Its central aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. More ambitiously, it aims to limit the increase even further, to exactly 1.5 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the agreement aims to strengthen the capacity of countries to cope with the effects of climate change.
