From Rincón Educativo we want to show you a selection of historical films about science, most of them are biographical films of eminent scientists, in which their discoveries and the historical moment in which they were developed are narrated.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and surely students would rather learn while watching a movie than receiving a master class. Why not change the format of the class for a day?

Without further ado…we present to you our selection of scientific films!

EINSTEIN AND EDDIGNTON (2008)

Film that narrates the evolution of Albert Einstein's "Theory of Relativity", as well as his relationship with the British scientist Sir Arthur Eddington, the first physicist to understand his ideas.

THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING (2014)

Eddie Redmayne (Oscar for Best Actor for his role in this film) plays the famous theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking. The Theory of Everything, reviews Hawking's beginnings at the University, his thesis, his illness, and his successes in popularization.

THE IMITATION GAME (2014)

Biopic about the British mathematician Alan Turing, famous for having deciphered the secret Nazi codes contained in the Enigma machine, which determined the outcome of World War II (1939-1945) in favor of the Allies. Far from being admired as a hero, Turing was charged and tried for his homosexuality in 1952.

A BEAUTIFUL MIND (2001)

Obsessed with the search for an original mathematical idea, brilliant student John Forbes Nash (Russell Crowe) arrives at Princeton in 1947 for his graduate studies. He is a strange and lonely boy, understood only by his roommate (Paul Bettany). Finally, Nash outlines a revolutionary theory "The Theory of Games" and gets a professorship at MIT.
