Let's build our scientist's briefcase!

Temas:

Today we are going to build a briefcase in which to store all the materials we will need to carry out our chemistry experiments. Besides being very useful to have all our gadgets well ordered, we will have a great time making it.

What do we need?

The first thing we need is a plastic box with divisions to properly store all the products and elements.

What are we going to put inside our briefcase?

In our scientist's case there will be 3 categories of materials:

Basic material:

  • Notebook and pencil for notes
  • Scientist's card (with our full name, school, grade, and age)
  • Plastic gloves (like those used by doctors)

Laboratory equipment

  • Pipettes (dropper)
  • Syringe
  • Tweezers
  • Plastic coffee sticks
  • Paintbrush
  • Chalk
  • Ear sticks
  • Filter paper
  • pH paper
  • Balloons
  • Candles
  • Straws

Chemicals

  • Sodium bicarbonate
  • Sodium Polyacrylate (look for a cotton ball under the cellulose layer of your sibling's diapers)
  • Sodium chloride (table salt)
  • Acetic acid (Vinegar)
  • Ethanol (Wound healing alcohol)
  • Acetone (nail polish remover)
  • Oil
  • Milk
  • Water
  • Dishwasher
  • Food coloring (you can find it in the baking section)
  • Lemon

The reagent labels can also be customized as you wish. In addition to all this, you will probably need a cloth, some small plastic bottles, plates and glasses.

Well, now we have our experiment case and all we have to do is start investigating!
