Interaction between a magnet and a coil (change of direction)

Series of experiments related to understanding how electric current is generated

Aim:

Observe the behavior of the magnetic fields of a coil and a magnet when they interact.

Material:

• A rectangular magnet.
• A coil.
• DC power source.
• Support to suspend the coil.
• Strong thread to suspend the coil.

Process:

• Suspend the coil from the support, in such a way that it can oscillate freely. - Connect the coil to the source.
• Gently bring the magnet closer to the coil from the front.
• Write down which color and pole of the magnet is the one that approaches the coil.

Observe and note how the coil has reacted:
